Who even are you?

Updated: Aug 18, 2019

Hello!

I'm Ashley. I take pictures. Actually, for TEN years now. Ten years, that's a whole person, I mean almost a teenager. Honestly I still can't believe that people pay me to do what I love. I would be lying if I said this has been an easy ten years. I have struggled in every aspect of my journey. I finally feel like I am at a place, where I know, without a doubt, what I want to be doing; what drives me to rise and shine. (Well that's a lie, there is no shine when I rise)

I'm from a small town outside Athens, Georgia that used to be even smaller. In fact I'm still friends with one of my classmates from kindergarten, you read that right, I told ya, small town.

I have a full time job Monday to Thursday, which is not a bad gig, but completely soul sucking for a creative mind. Everyday is a battle to go to work or just keep driving and never come back.

My dog, Chunk, is the most precious living thing to me. He has taught me to love unconditionally, and to never stay mad. He just recently turned 10, and found out he

has a heart murmur, but that doesn't stop him. We still hike together, and he plays like a puppy, but only for like 5 minutes and then he is over it. I honestly couldn't ask for a better, grumpier, or a more set in his ways dog.

I've always been obsessed with music. My CD collection was (and still is) meticulously organized and labeled...even those mix tapes. 90's country, 2000's punk, 80's hair

bands, 70's rock, grunge in the early 90's, and even some trap music in there for good measure. Miranda Lambert, Stevie Nicks, and Dolly Parton could play continuously for the rest of my life and I wouldn't blink an eye.

On my 31st birthday I decided that I would wake up somewhere new and beautiful every year on my birthday. For my 32nd birthday I drove Route 66 from OK City to Amboy, Ca. I watched the sun set over the Mojave and rise again over Lake Las Vegas. In those moments, something changed in me. It was like I was just now seeing the world for the first time. Thus began my love affair with the desert. But more on that later, I'm sure.

These are the key notes of my life.

I like photography, my dog, the desert, my car, music, traveling, and being a free bird.

My life is an open book, and I am a take me as I am, or watch me as I go kind of gal. Follow me, and let's see where my journey takes me. I can't promise it will be a smooth ride, but it will always be a wild one.
